Jocelyn is a queer multimedia artist and writer based in Bristol. After graduating from a Fine Art and Writing degree she has gone on to be awarded the Spike Island Graduate Fellowship where she has continued to develop both her writing and her performance work. Her practice is heavily steeped in research; taking inspiration from science fiction, imagined futures and time and social theory. Jocelyn explores the limits of discomfort and themes of sexuality, boredom and bodily autonomy on a micro and macro scale.
For Jocelyn everything begins with writing. Every idea, performance, video begins with a scribbled sentence. She see’s no difference between her artistic and her writing practices, they weave together, building and informing the other disciplines.
